  • Be more aware of your ‘true self’
  • Appreciate the value of self control
  • Master the art of ‘reading people’

Overview

Emotional intelligence can be defined as the range of skills that a person uses to deal with the everyday challenges that life brings. It is about (i) recognising our own feelings and (ii) the feelings of others, (iii) managing our own emotions and (iv) influencing the actions of others. This is important because research has shown that a person’s Emotional Intelligence (EI) is often a more accurate predictor of success than the individual’s IQ. In other words, no matter how clever someone is, their success is strongly affected by how well they communicate their ideas and interact with their peers (i.e. their EI). This half-day management master class will look at EI and by examining its core concepts will dramatically improve participants' ability to understand both their own personality, and the personality of those of the people who are important to them (e.g. friends, colleagues, customers etc.)
